Church Wedding Decorations: Decorating With Taste

Church wedding decorations should be beautiful but your options can sometimes be limited. Before you purchase anything to decorate your church, make sure to check with the church's policy in this area. If you get the go-ahead, you may be able to incorporate some of the reception decor into the decoration of the church too.

What To Decorate

You should always respect the rules or policies of the church when planning your decorating. Remember that your wedding decorations should be elegant and not over the top. Bear in mind that the church will probably be used for other services on the same day or weekend as your own wedding.

You may be able to consider some of these decorating ideas:

• Decorate the altar with floral arrangements in the wedding colors.
• Decorate the aisle with a red aisle runner.
• Decorate the pews with ribbons, an assortment of flowers or with lace and tulle.
• Outside the church, consider using bubbles instead of rice (don't forget to check with the church about their rules on this too!)
• Put flowers and decorations in the entrance hall to the church as well.

Simple And Elegant Decorating

Most churches are beautiful enough not to need a lot of decorations. You can use several inexpensive small items and still create an amazing effect.

In some churches, the floral arrangements can be obtained at a lower cost through the church itself. This is because many churches already have arrangements in place for their weekly services. Make sure to ask about this prior to purchasing expensive flowers.

Decorating for the church wedding can also be made easier by using some of your reception decor in the church too. Just remember that you'll have to plan to transport your decorations between the church and the reception.
