Outdoor Wedding Decorations: Decorating For The Seasons

Outdoor wedding decorations are often beautiful -- but it can be hard to get them just right. You may start by thinking about specific elements such as your wedding arch reception decorations. But how are you to go about decorating an outdoor venue and still keep within your budget?

In many cases, the answer is simply to let nature do the work for you! Indeed, the natural beauty of a particular setting is one of the main reasons why many wedding couples choose an outdoor location for their wedding. Even if you decide to have a marquee or tent, your guests will still be able to stroll outside and admire the surroundings you've chosen.

Here are some ideas of wedding decorations for your outdoor venue -- including wedding arch reception decorations.

Determine the site. The first thing that you will need to do for decorating is to know where you will have the wedding. Will you have the wedding and the reception at the same location? In any case, you will need to ensure that there is enough room and that the location is well landscaped. It's one of the first things your guests will notice when they arrive.

You'll want to decorate the archway in which your vows will be exchanged. Consider your floral arrangements: silk might work well here instead of real. You could decorate the altar with rose petals (not real). Don't forget to make sure that any platform to be used is clean and well painted.

Decorations for the pews and the aisle can be very simple. For example, at some weddings a red carpet is laid for the bride to walk on. Add a floral bouquet to the end of each pew or, for more elegance, add ribbons that match the color and the design of the bridesmaid's gowns.

For the tables and the other areas of the wedding reception, decorate with several small items rather than a few large ones. Use wedding favors as decorations for the tables. Use candles, flowers or other simple decorations for the tables with beautiful dishes for an elegant and simple look.

When planning your outdoor wedding, let your theme reflect the time of the year. For example, a fall wedding can incorporate leaves in its design and autumn ingredients in the menu. At a summer wedding, a beach theme can be appropriate.

Whatever your theme, take advantage of a beautiful outdoor setting to keep your decorations simple and inexpensive.
